This after Amitabh Bachchan tweeted in support of Metro and said that trees can be planted again. It was the second day of protest and it turned ugly as the police detained the students. The video of police dragging the students and dumping them into the van has gone viral on social media.

Solution for Pollution ..Grow more trees .. I did in my garden .. have you.” This called a lot of flak for him.

The topic of deforestation of Aarey has been the hot debate among Mumbaikars as many are of an opinion that it will harm the environment. To create car shed for Mumbai Metro, the Government has proposed deforestation of trees in Aarey. Many celebrities including Dia Mirza, Vishal Dadlani, Richa Chadha and others had come out to save Aarey. Shraddha Kapoor in fact even attended a silent protest to show her displeasure over cutting of trees.
Talking about Metro, another star who recently spoke about its importance is Akshay Kumar. He took Mumbai Metro and tweeted about it too!
